From a tiny sprout to a mighty Maker of Maykers!

At work, we all feel connected to agriculture in one way or another. We feel drawn to it because it speaks to our values and how we feel about the world of farming. 👩‍🌾

Here's a sweet throwback to when one of our Makers of Maykers was a little one, and now working as a staple colleague in our office. Can you guess who this sprout is? 🌱

We love seeing our Makers of Maykers crushing it at the Escape Room and working together in and out of the office. Already looking forward to the next outing together to see what we can accomplish next. 🤝

In early October, our French team attended the Sommet de l'élevage, together with Kramp and other partners. 👩‍🌾

Our aim was to meet farmers, learn about their purchasing needs online and introduce them to Maykers. It was a great way to learn more about how we are currently hitting the mark to help farmers save precious time by finding the spare parts and material they need... and also how we can improve 🛠

We're delighted with the results- a lot of happy new customers and a great team experience! 🇫🇷

Recently, we stopped by the desk of Paulo to ask him why he likes working for Maykers and what influenced him to start his journey with us!

A little about him: Paulo is Italian but raised in Lima, Peru and moved to the Netherlands to become a Maker of Maykers. 🪴

As our CRM Manager, he analyses our customer data and brings his insight to our strategy. He's a big team-player and is one of the newest members of our Culture Squad. 🌎

Last week we had our 100th Sprint Review! 100 sprints of hard work, accomplishments, and learnings.

It’s wonderful to be able to stop and look back at how we started and to see how hard we worked to get where we are today. 📍

At Maykers, we believe that our employees are at the heart and soul of success. Their passion, dedication, and continuous learning have been the drive behind the last 100 Sprints and continue to propel us forward.

We celebrated with cake, snacks, and beach towels designed by Felix to use on our summer holidays 🐮

As our lovely interns Mathijs and Antoine just completed their marketing internships, we are looking for someone to step in their footsteps. Maykers is a great first step towards your career, you can find flexibility to explore what you like and to make a big impact within the teams. 💙

In order to succeed in this internship, you:

💫 Are currently enrolled student in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Market Research, Business, Economics or related studies
💫 Are fluent in English and Danish/French
💫 Have some knowledge about design programs and you are not afraid to use Hubspot, Kentico, Figma etc.
💫 Are available for at least 6 months from July 2023 onwards - full time (earlier is also great)

Have you met our wonderful People Manager?

Amelia just moved to the Netherlands from South Africa. She started with us in March and has integrated perfectly into both Maykers and Kramp Hub. We asked Amelia why she chose the Netherlands and how her relocation experience was. Here’s what she said:

“The Netherlands originally captivated me with its vibrant culture, being able to bike everywhere and how safe it is. We wanted to create a beautiful life for our children and where there’s a sense of community.

Before I arrived, I was so scared to start a new job. I haven’t changed jobs in ten years, so naturally I was nervous. But when I walked in, I remember so well, seeing my team and being welcomed by hugs and genuine interactions, I felt so welcome. I felt really at home. Plus it was so cool meeting incredible people from all over the world, and learning about new cultures that I had never even heard of!

Relocation can be really hard, so some days I would walk in to work full of emotion and I found that there was always space for me to communicate this, mostly because there are so many internationals in the company and everyone knows that it can be a challenge in the first few months. I probably asked 1000 questions regarding relocation and I was always met with answers and advice, so Maykers made a hard transition much easier.”
